Executive Order on the Granting of Life Membership in the
Harris County Young Democrats to State Representative Gina Nicole Calanni
Presidential Actions - January 7, 2019
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and By-Laws of the Harris County Young Democrats in Article V, Section VI, Part I,
I, JAMES S. BURNETT, President of the Harris County Young Democrats, in order to maintain Young Democratic representation within the Harris County State Legislative Delegation, hereby order:
Regarding State Representative Gina Nicole Calanni the following:
Article III, Section I: Membership in this club shall be open to any Democrat who is 14 years of age or older, but has not yet attained the age of 40 years. Any eligible Democrat may become a member of this club by (a) completing a signed registration form, (b) submission of form to the Vice President, or in his/her absence submission to the President.
Is hereby rescinded.
Article VIII: There will be mandatory dues of $20 for an annual membership. In addition, members are requested to contribute to the regular expense of maintaining the club to the best of their financial ability.
Is hereby rescinded.
Presidential Memoranda dated December 17, 2018 removing Representative Gina Nicole Calanni from Harris County Young Democrats membership due to age requirements in Article III, Section I.
Is hereby rescinded.
Representative Gina Nicole Calanni is to be granted membership in Harris County Young Democrats and be giving the distinction of “Young Democrat” for the remainder of her life.
Amendments to this Executive Order can be used:

- Retroactively to grant the same distinction to former members of the Harris County Young Democrats, Former Harris County elected officials, Former Municipal elected officials within the county, Former Members of the Texas Legislature, and Former Members of Congress.
- Proactively to grant to the same distinction to those listed above nearing the age out limit set forth in Article III, Section I.
